We had a very nice 6-day stay. We were lucky to have a very nice Airbnb. It was our first Airbnb experience and it was great. The apartment was spacious, very centrally located and very quiet.
Our highlights:
- Kremlin
- Saint Basil’s Cathedral
- Our 2 evenings out: Nikulin Circus & Bolshoi Theatre
- Park Gorki
- Interior of Cathedral of Christ the Saviour
- European gallery of Pushkin museum
- Resto White Rabbit
- Church of St. Nicholas in Khamovniki
Our general impression:
- Very clean
- Efficient metro (although it takes a couple of days to get used to it…)
- Changing weather
- Large boulevards
- Difficult to find (mostly underground) pedestrian crossings
- Most of Moscow sidewalks are under renovation
- Safe
- Live music bands in streets (at night)
- Russians do not smile a lot (they don’t show much emotion)
- Booze takes nearly half the space in the supermakets
To visit during next stay:
- Red October
- Zvenigorod
- Izmailovo (flea) market
- Sanduny Baths
- Danilovsky Market
- Komsomolskaya metro station
