Las Vegas

Monday 16/07 (2/2)

We arrive at our Airbnb in the afternoon.

We are tired; we take a nap

Tonight we attend the Michael Jackson ‘One’ show by Cirque du soleil. The choreography and visual effects are amazing; we love the show.

We are little short of clothes. Hiking socks have become the ‘chic’ socks (for evenings like this) just because they are black…

There is a McDonald’s in a casino! Kids are amazed. For the girls, it’s their third burger in 3 days…

We’re back home at 10:15pm.

Isabelle and I web surf until midnight.

Tuesday 17/07

We wake up around 7am. The girls sleep later, until 9am.

I post on the blog for the first time in a while. I start the Galapagos part.

I go and buy milk and fruits as well as avocado and tomatoes for lunch (in a supermarket in Chinatown).

Breakfast at home around 10:30am

We leave at 11:15am to the Outlet store (LV South Premium Outlets), to buy clothes for the kids. We end up eating there (Fatburger for me and Subway for the others). We leave the outlet at 4pm. Kids are happy.

We go to a Walmart (for the first time), to buy inflatable mattresses as well as a few snacks (and underwear for the kids).

We drive to the Strip. We stop on the way to take pictures in front of the ‘Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign.

We park in the Aria resort. We walk to the ‘Shops at Crystals’ shopping mall; very chic. We pass through the casino. We are surprised that the kids can go through the casinos without problem. Jules is even with his scooter. Everything is very chic and luxurious. This is Vegas!

The girls go to H&M with Isabelle while I go with Jules to the Elena Bulatova Gallery. I want to buy the popsicle and/or the lollipop that we saw the other day in SF. I checked on internet and I thought the price was more affordable here but the price I saw was for the small pieces while I like the medium size ones… I will probably only buy one then…

We take the tram to the Bellagio. The interior of the Bellagio is super luxurious. We watch the fountains show outside.

It’s already 8pm. We go to another H&M (to find a swimming suit for Florence). We pass through the Caesar Palace; really impressive.

We go to the Fremont Street experience, by car.

We eat a quick ‘fast food’ dinner (it’s already 9:45pm!). Burritos for the girls, quesadilla for Florence and pizza slices for Isabelle and me.

We walk in this Fremont Street covered by an illuminated ceiling.

We notice that there are many Indians and Asians everywhere on the West Coast (and Mexicans in LA).

We’re back at the apartment around 11pm.

I work until 2am.
