Lima to Cuzco (8) – Road trip from Huancavelica to Ayacucho

Friday 04/05 (2/3)

Vlog by Ludivine: see below.

=====

By me:

We leave Huancavelica around 11:30am. The car is ok.

Weather is cloudy today.

Jules is not feeling great in the car (the road turns a lot). We see many lamas and alpacas.

We stop after 2 hours, in Lircay. We eat a quick picnic (breads filled with tomatoes and avocados) in a park / playground of the town. It starts raining, so take refuge in the covered (and colourful) market.

We continue this stunning road.

Around 3:30pm, we see many men and women bringing back their herds (of sheep, lamas, alpacas, cattle) home for the night.

The last 1h30 of the trip is not as impressive as the previous part, which was spectacular.

We arrive in Ayacucho a bit after 6pm. The trip lasted nearly 7 hours, with the pauses.

Jules doesn’t feel well in cars (today after less than 15’ he was already saying that he didn’t feel well…). I’m afraid since we will be spending 6 hours in cars / buses per day during 3 of the next 4 days…
